A house full of kids and no snacks... YIKES! I rummage through the fridge - Zip, Nada, Zero! Boy, do we parents need to be resourceful sometimes! I start scanning the freezer. What's that I see? Okay, I've got it:
TASTY SMOOTHIE TREAT
2 - 3 cups frozen mango (Trader Joe's brand is great)
2 - 3 fresh oranges
1 fresh or frozen banana
1/2 cup water
ice
secret super healthy ingredient (optional): 4 Tablespoons hemp seed nut - if you're curious, see below.
The kids hear the blender and come zooming around the corner. This smoothie is gone before I even get the blender washed! Looks like I've got to whip up another batch. I think I'll throw in some strawberries for a little color.
